It started being usable long after I had machines
working doing real astronomical observations here.
Besides that, I'd rather use debian everywhere and
there are some characteristics that do not really
fit my needs or my way of working (I never used a
cross compiler).

Well, there are several telescopes up there. Ours is 
the radiotelescope, i.e, the big (30m diameter) antenna.
