Reg ash build for ARM

Hi,
     I have Debian Source code CDs (woody). I want to build the
userland binaries for ARM Linux. I tried "tar" utility, and could
successfully build the elf for ARM. But, before that i want to bring
up the shell "ash". But i am finding only NetBSD makefile in the ash
directory. Can you please suggest me how can i build the ash utility
for ARM.
