It turns out that this bug has already been fixed with patch 1128. (I
miseed it since I was bugtesting against 2.4, and the patch was against
2.5.) While both patches have the same practical effect, patch 1128 is
more efficient; therefore, this patch 1304, should be withdrawn from
consideration in favor of patch 1128.
