Since the 2.95 bug is not likely to be fixed anytime soon, and 3.0 was recently fixed, might it be appropriate to switch the default g77 compiler on ARM to 3.0? What complications might be involved? Can we switch the FORTRAN compiler without the C or C++ compilers? On Sat, 2002-02-23 at 21:37, Camm Maguire wrote:../../tmglib_LINUX.a(slatms.o): In function `slatms_': slatms.o(.text+0x974): undefined reference to `.LC12' etc.Right. The errors above are caused by a compiler bug. Try using g77-3.0 rather than the default 2.95. If that doesn't work, you will need to generate a testcase and file a bug against g77.
The alternative is that every maintainer of every FORTRAN shlib package must notice autobuilding fails, find out 3.0 is necessary, find an available machine to log into, and rebuild, which doesn't seem like a great way to do things.
