That's not a very good idea.  On the ports where Haifa is not the default 
there is usually a reason.

Indeed.  GCC 3.0 will use Haifa for all platforms but there are some fixes 
needed to make it work.  The trunk sources won't even bootstrap on ARM at the 
moment, for example.
