problems with ld..gcc.. ?

I am having troubles with what appears to be the linking process.

gcc -c hello.c works fine, but

gcc -o hello hello.c barfs with:

@teolo [~] $ gcc hello.c
-dynamic-linker: error in loading shared libraries: -dynamic-linker: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 127 exit status

But... this same command just ran a minute ago! Ouch, that's really
weird!

Hardware problem?

I get this in an strace:

13086 access("/usr/bin/ld.rpo", R_OK)   = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
13086 access("<FF><BF><B8><FC><FF><BF><D4><FC><FF><BF>^O<FD><FF><BF>^_<FD><FF>
<BF>,<FD><FF><BF>=<FD><FF><BF>nux.so.rpo", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
13086 access("<FF><BF>,<FD><FF><BF>=<FD><FF><BF>nux.so.rpo", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

Looks like something is being corrupted.

I'm getting pretty stumped.

Speaking of... does anyone know what became of the netwinder devel
list?

Ciao,
