I think it's acceptable to just modify the first line of the
debian/changelog to take out 'frozen'.

I know that the "dbuild" script has an option called
"--fix-for-frozen".  Perhaps it could be modified to have another
option called "--fix-for-unstable".

I haven't participated in any other porting projects, so I don't know
what they do for it.
