Bug#880871: apache2: Default value of Mutex directive
Source: apache2
Version: 2.4.25-3+deb9u3
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
On a fresh install of apache2, we have theses defaults :
# apache2ctl -S
VirtualHost configuration:
*:80 172.17.0.2 (/etc/apache2/sites-
enabled/000-default.conf:1)
ServerRoot: "/etc/apache2"
Main DocumentRoot: "/var/www/html"
Main ErrorLog: "/var/log/apache2/error.log"
Mutex watchdog-callback: using_defaults
Mutex default: dir="/var/run/apache2/" mechanism=default
PidFile: "/var/run/apache2/apache2.pid"
Define: DUMP_VHOSTS
Define: DUMP_RUN_CFG
User: name="www-data" id=33
Group: name="www-data" id=33
Mutex dir is /var/run/apache2/ not the historical /var/lock/apache2.
I had got some Mutex problems with a EC2 official stretch image, reverted the
/var/lock/apache2 value (uncomment Mutex line in apache2.conf) and no more
problems appeared.
Regards.
