Hi,

this is my problem:

~$ /etc/init.d/apache2 status
Apache2 is running (pid 22202).
~$ sudo service apache2 stop
[ ok ] Stopping web server: htcacheclean apache2 ... waiting .
~$ sudo service apache2 status; echo $?
Apache2 is NOT running.
3

cat -n /etc/init.d/apache2
(...)
268 status)
269 PID=$(pidof_apache) || true
270 if [ -n "$PID" ]; then
271 echo "Apache2$DIR_SUFFIX is running (pid $PID)."
272 exit 0
273 else
274 echo "Apache2$DIR_SUFFIX is NOT running."
275 if [ -e "$PIDFILE" ]; then
276 exit 1
277 else
278 exit 3
279 fi
280 fi
281 ;;
(...)

Bug is when NAGIOS checks apache2 service:
~$ grep status /etc/nagios/nrpe_local.cfg
command[check_centreon_service]=/etc/init.d/$ARG1$ status

It's possible to change exit 3 to exit 2 ?

Regards

I think code 3 is correct. See
http://refspecs.linuxbase.org/LSB_3.1.1/LSB-Core-generic/LSB-Core-generic/iniscrptact.html . Maybe nagios should be modified to handle
that (but I don't know nagios)

Cheers,
Stefan
