You have done a huge chunk of work already, and I haven't noticed
anything major that I disagree with. Of course, there is even more
work left to do. Given that it's just a snapshot, I think the only
thing I can say is: continue your good work :-)

I don't have much time for the 2.3 package yet and I can't say yet
when that will change. But I have done a few tweaks today.

Some more notes:

Do we need the apache2.2-bin transitional package? Packages depending
on it need to be updated anyway, for the config changes.

Maybe it would be nice for a2enmod to support or'ed dependencies. This
would be especially useful for the slotmem and socache modules.

There is a 2.4.0 release candidate available at
http://httpd.apache.org/dev/dist/ . It has not been and will never be
released, but it will be closer to the final 2.4.x GA release than
2.3.16. Maybe it would make sense to merge that already.

For some of the version numbers in the control file, it would be ok to
just use "<< 2.3", which is shorter and more readable, IMHO.

For some changes, like the suexec packaging, we will just have to see
how usable they turn out to be in practice.

BTW, if you notice things that really should go upstream, tell me, or
note them somewhere.

I think I have already started a list of debian bugs that are fixed in
2.4. So you may want to defer working on that until I have integrated
that into the changelog.

Cheers,
Stefan
