This bug is an "old" bug fully described in 
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=12355
I have marked important because it prevents the use of POST (not only 
php) in case of authorisation given on a per directory basis depending 
on the presence of various client certificates.

A patch is given in http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=12355

I have assigned the bug to apache2 module, but I am not fully sure it is 
the good one/
