Hi Andreas. I'm afraid I have to disagree with your statement that "2.4 kernels are slowly phasing out". It seems that a lot of VPS suppliers are using 2.4 kernels in their virtual machines. Underneath it's running a 2.6 kernel, but products like Virtuozzo seem to like 2.4 kernels. That server's a production one so I can't really try again with the 2.4 kernel to see if it's reproducible, but I might try on another machine if I get time.Apache2 has issues to run on 2.4-kernels, that is a known bug. I personally hope to see this one fixed, but as 2.4-kernels are slowly phasing out, this is not a promise. Merging this bug report with the other on 2.4-kernels. Cheers, Andi |
