Bug#234650: apache-ssl 1.3.29.0.1-3 not reading config files

Yesterday I rebooted my webserver (to bring up the 2.4.25 kernel) and 
today noticed that my webserver no longer worked. The apache-ssl binary 
was last modified on Dec 17, but strangely the problem just appeared. 
The symptom is that apache-ssl runs but it doesn't seem to load its 
configuration files from the standard place 
(/etc/apache-ssl/httpd.conf). A look at the binary shows the string 
/usr/htdocs to be present, so on a hunch I set up a symbolic link to 
there from my real document root and that got my website partially going 
again, but SSL and several virtual hosts are all broken.

I tried saving my config directory, reinstalling apache-ssl and 
restoring the config directory without any success. What has recently 
changed??
