If you don't actually use mod_perl (Or just want your webserver back, even if it doesn't support perl temporarily) the easiest way is to edit your /etc/httpd.conf file to comment out the line:
LoadModule perl_module /usr/lib/apache/1.3/mod_perl.sothen restart Apache. (If you do have anything that uses mod_perl, you'll likely have to comment that out also), at the very least, it'll give you a webserver you can put a "This site currently unavailable" message up on.
