I couldn't help noticing that libapache-mod-perl again has >= dependancy

This is created by ${shlibs:Depends} and it is correct.

That kind of dependancy caused the recent breakage.

perl abi is broken and it was not supposed to break for a minor release.
Consider it as an isolated case.

I wouldn't expect it either, but these things happen...

I must
admit that I don't know much about dpkg, but it might be beneficial to
set exact version dependancy (= rather than >=) so things don't break in
the future. Thanks.

This simply cannot be done otherwise each time there is a perl upload we
need an apache upload.

Again, I'm not that friendly with dpkg, but that may not be necessary if you could set dependancy on the perl version proper. Perl tipically gets a new (major) release every two years or so, followed by the minor release in about six months time. If you can avoid perl package version dependancy, that's not too often.

If you have nothing to object i will close this bug

That's fine, just wanted to point out the issue, now that there's no pressure... Thanks for your time.

Cheers,
Srdjan
