Package: apache
Version: 1.3.23-1
Platform: powerpc

/etc/apache/httpd.conf has misconfigured AddLanguage examples.

The preconfigured examples for the AddLanguage Run-Time Configuration=20
Directive should follow either the two or three character codes from=20
ISO-639-2 "Codes for the Representation of Names of Languages"

Currently, the examples mistakenly uses ISO 3166, "Country codes" in=20
place of ISO-639-2 "Codes for the Representation of Names of Languages".

Countries are not languages and languages are not countries. =20

 * ISO-639-2 "Codes for the Representation of Names of Languages."
=09http://lcweb.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/englangn.html

 * ISO-3166-1 "Country codes"
=09http://www.din.de/gremien/nas/nabd/iso3166ma/codlstp1/en_listp1.html

Usability and following standards is the primary issue.=20

A second issue is that as the WWW, Debian and Apache are adopted in more
of the world, it will be increasingly important to pay attention to
cultural details such as these. e.g. Turkey/Greece/Cypress, the whole
middle east, and various emmigrant or refugee or minority (Swedish
speaking Finns, Caldeans in Detroit, etc.) communities.

Cheers,
-Lars
