Re: USB not assigning device name to plugable drives?

On my Sid/experimental mix:

$ dmesg
...
[19294.384809] usb-storage: device found at 7
[19294.384811] usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
[19299.384094] usb-storage: device scan complete

MB/250 MiB)
[19299.387201] sd 10:0:0:0: [sdi] Write Protect is off

[19299.388698] sd 10:0:0:0: [sdi] Assuming drive cache: write through
[19299.388701]  sdi: sdi1
...

and

$ pmount
...
Printing mounted removable devices:
/dev/sdi1 on /media/PRETEC type vfat
(rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,uid=1000,gid=1000,fmask=0022,dmask=0077,codepage=cp437,iocharset=utf8,shortname=mixed,utf8,flush,errors=remount-ro)
...

Well, I'm running Gnome, but I'm not sure which daemon is responsible
for this stuff at the moment - it's been working for me fine so no need
to debug. Maybe udev's calling pmount? (It would be nice if someone
could shed more light on current status of removable media management.)
