Re: libsc7_2.3.1-3_amd64.deb problems

Hi:
Following

# apt-get clean

then

#apt-get update
#apt-get upgrade

the system was no more complaining about libsc7, though it was about libsc7-dev (unmet dependencies as it depends from libsc7). Suggested "apt-get -f install", which I did; it asked permission to install libsc7_2.3.1-3_amd64.
I accepted:

Get:1 http://ftp.debian.org lenny/main libsc7 2.3.1-3 [2840kB]
Fetched 2840kB in 38s (73.3kB/s)
perl: warning: setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:

are supported and installed on your system.
perl : warning:Falling back to the standard locale ("C").
locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory
(Reading database ... 99787 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking libsc7 (from .../libsc7_2.3.1-3_amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libsc7_2.3.1-3_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/libSCstate.so.7.1.0', which is also in package libsc8
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/lisc7_2.3.1-3_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned error code (1)

Now libsc7_2.3.1-3_amd64.deb (Mar 15 19:47 2840478 bytes) is the only file present in /var/cache/apt/archives, besides file "lock" (0 bytes) and directory "partial" (empty).

I did nothing else in the fear to damage the system

Thanks for advice
francesco pietra
