its obviously an nf4 chipset, with two nics. a proper onboard pci 'Marvell
Technology Group' gig nic - uses skge, and a forcedeth nic (which doesnt
appear in lspci) you can see the smbus though. oh wait you can....

0000:00:0a.0 Bridge: nVidia Corporation CK804 Ethernet Controller (rev a3)

the soundcard is the CK804, its realtek or realtek based. driver support
for it improved enormously throughout the pre-2.6.10 kernels. now its
perfect as far as i can tell (alsa)

CAVEATS

yes i would very much like to talk to someone in the kernel mob about
this, or someone who can beat down DFI

ok

i need to flash the bios every time i boot, then reboot and run or i will
get segfaults and system restarts when...

- i run a program that uses some advanced opengl functions (ut2k4, i found
a way to get it to always work but its bad. cedega also)
- i try to change the color palette of an image in gimp
- i run tzconfig to rebuild the timezones

first case will cause an instant system reboot
second will instantly kill gimp
third will give loads of kernel oops and often reboot.

like i said, i flash the mboards bios hit the reset button and i can boot,
run games, use the gimp and rebuild timezone data at my leisure.

and yes im using the latest bios firmware (whatever its called)

so if someone can point me in the direction of some clever individual
perhaps we can find exactly what is causing it. fortunately im not big on
rebooting so once im going im going.

anyway if you could add the board to the list that would be great.
