fglrx-driver still slow
Hello all,
I have got the fglrx-driver installed, but, because of some reason, it is
still rather slow. Although all 3D-functions are o.k., and fgl_glxgears is
running, the kernel-module and the driver are loaded correctly it is still
slow. Please look at the result of fgl_glxgears:
fgl_glxgears
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
207 frames in 5.0 seconds = 41.400 FPS
296 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.200 FPS
Please note: I do NOT believe, the driver is buggy, I still believe, that
something else does not work correctly. My notebook does have no AGP, but
PCIE port. Is there some special kernel-module I have to load additionally ?

As I search now for some weeks, I do not know, where to look any more. I
stopped for testing every ACPI-processes, to avoid braking the system by the
cpu, checked xorg.conf for many, many times and did many things more.
Now I am really desperated, as I do not know, where to look any more.
How can I find out, that the PCIE-bus for the graphicscard is working fast
(2x, 4x, 8x) ?
How can I check step by step, if all the "X"-relevant parts are running well ?
Is there a way for checking this at all ???
Again: I am really sure, the driver itself is o.k., and the reason IMO is
either a configuration error or a missing kernel module.
Please help !
Thank you very much in advance !
Best regards
Hans
