Yep, my opinion as well. Unfortunately there is no obvious place in
sata_nv.c where it would disable interrupts, so it might be something
subtle, or a HW thing.

1G ram, about half of it is usually cache + buffers. So it's not memory

Well, at home I have plenty of CPU power to waste, so that's not a
