On the 2.6.14 kernel, lsmod shows:
...
snd_via82xx		
snd_via82xx_modem

<snip>

via82cxxx
via82cxxx_audio 
...
and it looks as though only via82cxxx_audio is being used

On 2.6.15 lsmod gives:
...
snd_via82xx            29032  2
snd_via82xx_modem      15948  0

<snip>

via82cxxx               9284  0 [permanent]

but via82cxxx_audio doesn't show up.  So I have via82cxxx installed but
it doesn't get used.
