Debian Sarge for AMD64 really slow !?

Hello,

I just bought a new PC : an Athlon 64 3200+ (core venice) with a nForce 
4 (with a GeForce 6100 integrated) chipset.

When I try to install debian on it, it's really slow : I can see 
installation screens been displayed char per char ! Strange no ?
I tried with an AMD64 of Ubuntu 5.04 too, and I have not this problem.

Do you know what is the problem ?
