Re: XFS log recovery failure

Hi,

from my various experiences with XFS :
it sucks when you change kernel version and even more when you change
from architecture.
I was running it on a bi-opteron box with 64 bits kernel on 32 bits
userland. I got tons of problems with their tools crashing/not
recognizing their own filesystems.
if you create a xfs partition on 32 bits , use it _exclusively_ with 32
bits tools., Same thing for 64 bits ...
so basically you have to start the kernel with which you last booted
your xfs partition and xfs_repair it...

I have no other solution to offer you ...
maybe xfsdump it on 32 bits and xfsrestore it on 64 bits if you want to
use 64 bits ...

anyway, for this XFS is really buggy (at least from 2.6.5 to 2.6.10
kernels I tried...)

good luck.

Cheers,
Mik
