NVidia module does not exist

Hi all,

Got problem to get X working with Nvidia driver, here's what I did :

apt-get installed nvidia-kernel-common, nvidia-settings and nvidia-kernel-source

I followed METHOD #1 of the instructions in
/usr/share/doc/nvidia-kernel-source/README.Debian

After compilation in dpkg -i the generated deb, and I now have a
/lib/modules/2.6.10-9-amd64-k8/nvidia/nvidia.ko module.

I modprobed it and changed vesa to nvidia in my XF86Config file.

But when I start X I have this error :

(EE) Failed to load module nvidia (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) No drivers available.

anway, nvidia driver is loaded : lsmod | grep nvidia :
nvidia 4054300 0

What did I do wrong ?
