problem with network card on Asrock K8NF
Hi,
my system configuration is:
AMD 2800+ athlon,
Asrock K8NF SATA-2 mob with inbuilt sound card, network card and video card
i have tried 2.6.8 stock kernel that ships with debian sarge. there is no luck with the network card.
i go to /sys/class/net. no 'eth0'. there is only 'lo' and 'sit0'
tried the kernel.org kernel 2.6.14. no luck with that too. i see the
udev messages in syslog. but still the /sys/class/net is the same
thing...which only means that my inbuilt network card is not detected.
i modprobe 'd sis900 (which reportedly works with my Realtek PHY)and
then forcedeth -- but no luck.
any clues as to what to do?
