OK. How about running "gdb /usr/bin/xpdf.bin" and telling me where it
crashes?
Are you running all unstable? Did you install packages from any other
source eg Ubuntu? Is your X server running on the same machine?
Also, it would be useful to know the exact versions of all your
libraries. reportbug includes that information at the bottom of the bug
report template; you can either start it up, grab that info and then
cancel, or just submit a bug about this issue.
