Which kernel version and which udev version? Did you really want udev
installed? It seems to be causing a lot of grief lately.

It seems that hte kernel is 2.6.12 as the subject tell it to us
And it seems that udev is 0.63 as it is told 2 line before.

So the versions match

But, I tried udev 0.63 and reverted to 0.60 (with kernel 2.6.12) because there are problems with hotplug devices.

udev is really handy to manage automount of hotplug devices like flash cards.

We have just to wait a bit until all the Debian server are back and hal updated...
