That's the motherboard for witch i was looking for information :)
Your raid software is the motherboard one (from chipset, bios
configuration ?) or you have create it during debian's installation ?
I don' use the primose chipset but the VIA one. I don't use at all the
raid feature of the motherboard: I've disabled it in the BIOS.
I've installed the raid1 software during the installation with the
debian-installer.
I've built a lvm over raid1
The confid is 2 Maxtor SATA 80Gb HDD.
Each one is divided in 2 partition. One partition is 100Mb, the other
partition the rest of the disk.
I built 2 raid, one on both the 100Mb partitions for /boot, the other
one on wich I've built the lvm.
Then, I've built xfs filesystems over evrything.
And does anyone has try the promise chipset ?
I will need an extra disk soon... So I will try...
(but don't hold your breath..)

hi all
I would like to know when was made the last update on this page :
http://alioth.debian.org/docman/view.php/30192/27/mainboards.html
I'm looking for Sata chipset witch can be reconize by the debian
installer in order to install the system on 4 sata disc with
software raid 5.
I'm using an ASUS A8V Deluxe with 2 SATA drives on software RAID1.
I use them on the VIA chipset. I've not tested with the promise
chipset which is needed if you want to use 4 disks
I've installed the system from the installer
thx
