I run into this problem also, and found a solution:

lprng seems to require a named socket, /var/run/lprng/socket, when
printing to localhost. This can be fixed by putting the following in
/ets/fstab:

/var/run	/your-32-chroot/var/run	none	bind	0	0

This maybe should go into the AMD64 Howto.
