pure64/sid: base-files pre-dependency on libc6 stalls update

Hello,

I'm using pure64 Sid. The current base-files package
(3.1.2-0.0.0.3.pure64) pre-depends on libc6
(>= 2.3.2.ds1-20.0.0.1.pure64), libc6 (<< 2.3.2.ds1-20.0.1), so that
libc6 cannot be updated from 2.3.2.ds1-20.0.0.1.pure64 to 2.3.2.ds1-21.
This stalls the update of packages built against libc6 2.3.2.ds1-21,
including an update of mozilla-firefox which fixes various security
issues.

Can I just force the update of libc6 to 2.3.2.ds1-21 (by rebuilding
base-files locally with a different pre-dependency), or will this cause
some bad breakage?

If I understand the changelogs of base-files and libc6 correctly, the
only difference between the pure64 and official versions is the lib64
symlink. Is this correct? I don't care about LSB conformance and have
no 32 bit applications. Does this mean I don't have to care about the
lib64 symlink?

TIA,
Martin
