I've got the same motherboard with the same problem: Sound used to work Dec 30 (when I installed Debian for AMD64) with the via82cxxx driver until Jan 10 2005 (when I made an apt-get upgrade). I don't know what happened to my sound system, but afterwards other drivers were installed (via82xx) and my system remains silent. I played around with modconf, but I am a newbie in this respect and I didn't succeed. I tried to install ALSA but without success. Any more ideas would be helpful. Best regards, Florian
