Ah -- OK. Sorry for the noise. I downgraded from gcc3.4 to pure64 and I
missed several packages. Thus the confusion. 

I resolved the situation by adding the following to
"/etc/apt/preferences":

Package: *
Pin: release unstable
Pin-Priority: 1001

Now I did an "apt-get dist-upgrade" and all "wrong" packages from
gcc-3.4 downgraded to the pure64-versions.
