Hi Andrei,
I have been googling SATA and 2.6 kernel and there is a lot to read!
Some issues with my hardware and drivers appear to have been partially
resolved, eg there are beta sata_nv modules and sata_sil modules for
nVidia and Sil 3112/3512 drivers.
I'm puzzled why the SATA hard drive gets partitioned on a 2.4.27 install
but is not detected on a 2.6.8-1 install.
My mobo is a 754 pin but I don't think that's the issue here.
