Of course you are right. This was my fault. I forgot to apply the patch
which causes grub to be statically linked. Sorry for this.
The latest grub version in the amd64/gcc-3.4 archive,
which I uploaded a few minutes ago, should be statically linked again.
A patch which includes this has also been sent to the grub maintainer.
