AMD64 Kernel Available
Hello,
I was unable to boot my AMD64 machine in 64-bit mode with any of the
kernel images available already. I installed AMD64 gentoo and built a
stock 2.6.6 as a monolithic kernel (w/o) with just about all drivers I
could to stay within the size. Get it from:
http://people.debian.org/~jgoerzen/vmlinuz-2.6.6-amd64
The config file is:
http://people.debian.org/~jgoerzen/config-2.6.6-amd64
It has ext2, ext3, reiser, JFS, XFS, LVM/MD, RAID, SATA/IDE, USB, PCMCIA
built in. No DRM, sound, etc.
I booted it on my Compaq machine and, save for sound, my i386 Debian
installation booted perfectly under the i386 emulation.
