Falun Dafa and the Persecution in China

At the core of Falun Gong are the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance (or in Chinese, Zhen 真 Shan 善 Ren 忍). Falun Dafa teaches that these are the essential characteristics of the universe and takes them to be a guide for everyday life and practice .
In 1998, to ascertain the health effects of Falun Gong, a survey was carried out among Falun Gong practitioners in five districts in Beijing, with 12,731 bona-fide questionnaires. The results show that Falun Gong’s healing rate from illness is 99.1% with a cure rate of 58.5%; Betterment rate is 80.3% in physical health and 96.5% in mental wellbeing. The survey indicates that Falun Gong has a significant effect in disease healing and wellbeing elevation. Falun Gong is an excellent Qi-gong practice that benefits people both physically and mentally.
The health and wellness benefits of Falun Gong have been witnessed by people around the world, while the practice continues to grow in 114 countries. It has been well-received by governments. But yet, in China where it was presented to the public in 1992, it has beenill-treated .
In July 1999, Falun Gong became public opponent number one in China. A insecure dictator's fear of Falun Gong's exponential growth resulted in intense jealousy of Falun Gong’s acceptance. Since the beginning of the persecution , many practitioners have been sent to ‘reform through labour’ camps, where they are starved , beaten, and tortured with electric batons. By 2008, there were over 3,000 registered cases of practitioners who were killed as a result of the state-run suppression. Increasingly, solid proof iimplies many more, at least 60,000 until several years ago, have been targetedas involuntary donors of kidneys, livers, and hearts.
To understand the gravity of this situation, let me give a small example: Envision you practiced yoga in India and one fine day you were kidnapped and put into jail for practicing it. Then you were persecuted and forced to stop practicing. Then, when you refused to stop since it has given you only good things, you were put through more torture and denied meeting with your family members, who did not know where you were. No court would take your case. You were put through physical and mental harassment and then subjected to the worst crime of all: Your organs, having been tissue typed, were forcibly removed from your body, to be sold at a premium price to wealthy Chinese or overseas patients. You die from this process. And this was all done by the government of your own country. This is unfortunately happening in China right now to Falun Gong practitioners, whose only crime is an following the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance.
