Lenny does not boot after installation

Hi,

after installing Lenny from the netinst CD-ROM on a Digital AlphaPC 164LX
(600MHz) machine, the system does not boot successfully. The boot process
starts normally (just as with the CD-ROM), but the system hangs after the
following lines:

Loading, please wait...
input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard as /class/input/input0

What can be the reason for this behaviour? When I boot with the CD-ROM, the
SCSI subsystem is initialized after that. Maybe it has something to do with
that? How can I get the system working?
