As a desktop system, you're probably right.

As a server/appliance, EV4 is powerful enough for lots of current
tasks. Hell, my Multia, running etch, is still my main
gateway/DNS/DHCP server/whatever I throw at it.  Still going strong
after more than 10 years. I regulary use a Jensen (yes, 150MHz EV4, no
PCI), an AS1000 (200MHz EV4) and an AS250 (233MHz EV4).

EV4 is old and slow, yes. It's just not quite dead yet. So please
don't kill support for EV4.
