On a related note to proc problems. The kernel wchan entries do not seem to be valid on either 2.6.10 or 2.6.12 (I haven't checked other versions). When a process is suspended in the kernel, they should point to the function. The /proc/xxxx/wchan should be a decoded version (i.e., looked up in kallsyms), and the seventh entry from the end in /proc/xxxx/stat should be a non-decoded version (i.e., the raw address). On the Alpha, both entries are the same (i.e, raw address), and both seem to be garbage (i.e., the addresses do not even come anywhere close to actual functions in /proc/kallsyms). -T -- Tyson Whitehead (-twhitehe@uwo.ca -- WSC-) Computer Engineer Dept. of Applied Mathematics, Graduate Student- Applied Mathematics University of Western Ontario, GnuPG Key ID# 0x8A2AB5D8 London, Ontario, Canada
