unfortunately more 2.6 issues

Hi!

I'm tuning the 2.6.2 kernel, and ran into some bad things I hope you guys
might be able to help me out with. The machine is an AlphaStation 200. (I
successfully use the SCSI driver recommended by Jay Estabrook earlier this
week, thanks a lot!!)

1) I use a serial mouse. For 2.4 kernels, my X setting is /dev/ttyS0. I
know mouse devices are changed into /dev/input/mice in 2.6, but it doesn't
work for me. I saw in some web forum there were problems with serial mice,
but there were no real answers.

2) I have two network cards that I use. eth0 is a 3Com 3c905C and eth1 is
the internal DECchip 21040. I compiled them as modules, and 3c59x.ko will
load and work great. de4x5.ko won't until I do it manually. I suspect the
kernel can't find all the modules. When upgrading from 2.2 to 2.4 I
remember I had to upgrade some package in order to solve a similar
problem; could that be the issue here?

I just saw 2.6.3 is out and patched my sources. I guess that's good, but
that it won't solve my problems?

I'd be greatful for any input (except for flaming... ;-) ).

Best regards,

/Joakim
