Nothing concrete.

I tried hooking up both an IDE HDD and CDROM to an AS400 4/233, and
had exactly the same problem: it hung probing the IDE devices. This
was with a 2.6.4 kernel; I haven't yet tried with 2.4.x, but will do
so early next week to see if there's any difference.
