"depmod: Unhandled relocation of type 10 for .text"

Hi,

I am trying to build a 2.4.21 kernel for my PWS500au. I have started
with the stock config fiel from the 2.4.21-3-generic kernel image and
tried to build a kernel with make-kpkg using the gcc-3.2.1 compiler (
gcc-3.2-3.2.3-7).

Compilation appears to work, but then when the package is assemble I get
a lot of messages like:

depmod: Unhandled relocation of type 10 for .text

and then it fails. Is this a modutils issue? (I'm using  modutils-2.4.21-3) or a compiler issue?

What does the error message mean?
