Nope, I'm using a 2.4.20 kernel with the ptrace patch, SGI XFS 
post-1.2 snapshot with a few fixes, and the cia_core patch.  My 
current .config is attached.

Mainly you just have to build the XFree86 DRM modules instead of 
the kernel DRM modules.  The stock kernel DRM modules are very 
old, tailored to a different driver interface, largely 
unmaintained, and may or may not work.
