Actually, if AlphaBIOS is synonymous with ARC, to my recent experience,
a Linux installer cannot boot from a CD with it. It always results in a
Kernel Panic after the kernel has started to load a few drivers. I can't
seem to find the web page where I found out that this was a known issue,
though.
