They're Linux kernel modules, included with the XFree86 source
(under xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/os-support/linux/drm/).
The DRI modules included with the stock Linux kernel are too old
to be usable with up-to-date XFree86 versions, even if they do
compile.
