XFree Configuration

Hey.
I'm trying to setup X on an Alpha running Woody and failing miserably.
The video card's an old Diamond with the ARK2000PV chipset.
When debconf prompts me for a driver, "ark" isn't in the list of
proposals. If I choose "vga", I get X on the lower half-screen at
640x480 (not cool).
I looked around a little and realized that the "ark_drv.so" file
isn't on the drive, even though the xserver-xfree86 package is
installed. The number version is correct: 4.1.0-16 .
I've tried reading the docs, tutoriels and using google but
didn't come up with anything. What is going on?

Is the ark driver really supposed to be missing from
the alpha port of XFree86?
