OSF Apps broken...

Hi all - 

After a recent dist-upgrade on my Alpha, my OSF 
applications stopped working (netscape, acoreader). 

I think it was the "update" of the XFree86 to 4.1.x 
(I was actually running a private build of a more 
recent version at the time).

Now my applications die with: 

Warning: Cannot convert string
"-*-Menu-Medium-R-Normal--*-120-*-*-P-*-ISO8859-1" to type FontStruct
XIO:  fatal IO error 22 (Invalid argument) on X server ":0.0"
      after 151 requests (150 known processed) with 0 events remaining

I know this is probably a simple one!
