Alpha 2100A Installation Problems

I am trying to get Debian 2.2r6 on an Alpha box. When I enter the following command:

boot dka600

	I get among other selections

l	List Prefigured Kernels

	then I get this

0:boot/linux root=/dev/ram initrd=boot/root.bin
1:boot/linux root=/dev/ram initrd=boot/root.bin console=ttyS0
2:boot/linux root=/dev/ram initrd=boot/root.bin console=ttyS1

No matter which one I select I get the following error:

halted CPU 0

halt code = 6
double error halt
PC = 14400

	My firmware version is:

V5.3-10 Oct 16, 1998 14:06:58

	My PAL is:

VMS PALcode V5.56-7, OSF PALcode V1.45-12

I have put Debian on a lot of i386 machines but never an Alpha before. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Brian
