strange problem with pan......

well its goes like this.

First i installed pan, it worked. SO far so good.
then i installed stormpkg, apt removed pan (and added rpm alien etc).
After a while i stared to miss pan and kibo, so i tried to install 
pan (and apt removed stormpkg and some other stuff). Then i tried to run pan
this is what i get:
         "pan: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open
shared object file: cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory"
 
At least is almost like windows, really strange error messages with litle or no
help.
